Filtration systems for cutting fluids.
Industrial grinding and polishing generate metal chips, abrasive sludge and heat. To maintain part quality and protect your machines, there is one key requirement: clean fluid in a closed-loop system.
Eurotechni is the French distributor for POLO Filter-Technik filtration systems — specifically designed for these applications since 1949.
How does it work?
During grinding, a pump continuously supplies water mixed with soluble grinding fluid to the part and the grinding wheel.
This fluid serves two purposes: assisting the cutting process and maintaining temperature control.
Loaded with chips and abrasive sludge, it is sent back to the filtration system, cleaned, and then reinjected cleanly into the machine.
→ A closed-loop system that only performs properly with fluid of consistent quality.

Why proper filtration changes everything.
A cutting fluid loaded with chips and abrasive particles does not simply degrade faster. It degrades everything it comes into contact with.
| Without effective filtration. | With a POLO system. |
|---|---|
| Dirty fluid → clogged grinding wheel → degraded cutting quality. | Open grinding wheel → clean cut → consistent surface finish. |
| Suspended particles → tolerances not maintained. | Clean fluid → compliance with part tolerances. |
| Contaminated fluid → reduced service life → frequent replacement. | Preserved fluid → extended service life → reduced costs. |
| Chips in the guideways → premature machine wear. | Clean machines → protected guideways → fewer stoppages. |
| Fluid that is aggressive to operators’ skin. | Clean fluid → improved working conditions. |
The POLO range: a solution for every configuration.
POLO offers a complete range, from individual filters for a single machine to centralised installations supplying entire workshops. All systems are custom-built in Bremen.
Belt filters and inclined-bed filters — the core of the range
The SB range is the most widely used in grinding workshops. It is based on filtration through a non-woven filter or endless belt, using gravity or vacuum suction. Ideal for emulsions and light oils.
| Reference | Designation | Technology | Main use |
|---|---|---|---|
| SKF | Gravity filter | Non-woven / gravity | Simple configuration, low flow rate |
| SB | Inclined-bed filter | Non-woven / gravity | Emulsion, standard grinding |
| SBN / SBP | Inclined-bed filter | Non-woven / gravity | Compact variants |
| SBH | High-performance inclined-bed filter | Non-woven / gravity | High flow rate, intensive grinding |
| SBEH | Inclined-bed filter | Endless belt. | Intensive use, heavy chip load |
| SBT | Inclined-bed filter | Non-woven | Specific applications |
| SBV / SBEV | Vacuum filter | Non-woven or endless belt | Neat oil, fine filtration |
| SAFI-C/E/T | Vacuum belt filter | Non-woven or endless belt | Medium flow rate, versatile |
Magnetic filters — for ferrous chips
Essential in any steel grinding application, magnetic filters capture suspended ferrous particles before they reach the machine components.
→ MAF — standard magnetic filter, installed in bypass or inline
→ MFGH — high-performance version for high flow rates
→ Can be combined with any SB range belt filter
Centralised systems
For workshops equipped with several grinding machines, a centralised POLO system is the most cost-effective solution. A single system treats the fluid for the entire machine fleet, with significant savings on consumables and maintenance.
→ Custom sizing according to the number of machines and combined flow rates
→ Centralised management via the POLO app
→ Modular and scalable architecture
Options and accessories
→ PPS lifting station — fluid return to the machine
→ OFA skimmer / surface suction unit — removal of floating oils
→ Coalescence separator — oil / water separation for emulsions
→ Microflotation separator — advanced treatment of spent emulsions
→ SWS float switch — level safety
→ KBF / SBF chip conveyor — automatic chip removal
→ FFR ultrafine filter — filtration down to fine residual particles
Consumables and maintenance.
A filter is only effective if its consumables are suitable and replaced regularly. POLO offers two complementary technologies, available in several sizes and filtration grades.
Non-woven filter media.
Disposable filter media supplied in rolls. Each belt advance exposes a clean filtering surface. An economical and easy-to-implement solution, available in several weights depending on the desired filtration fineness.
Endless belt.
Reusable filter belt that is automatically and continuously rinsed. Ideal for applications with high flow rates and coarse chips. Offers a significantly longer service life than non-woven media, reducing operating costs.
Eurotechni supplies all POLO consumables: non-woven filter media, endless belts and wear parts. Direct ordering and fast delivery from our French stock.
From analysis to commissioning: our support.
Choosing a filtration system is not simply a matter of selecting a model from a catalogue. Proper sizing depends on your flow rate, the nature of the fluid, the type of chips generated and the space available in your workshop.
Eurotechni and POLO support you throughout the entire life cycle of your installation.
What we do for you.
→ Laboratory analysis of your current fluid and your requirements
→ Free technical study — sizing of the appropriate system
→ Supply of samples or filtration tests on your premises
→ Installation and commissioning by our technicians
→ Operator training for daily maintenance
→ Preventive maintenance contract
→ Fast supply of consumables from our French stock
→ Technical support via the POLO app — remote monitoring of installations.
A solution designed for BERGER machines.
The BERGER grinding and polishing machines we distribute all operate with cutting fluid supply. It therefore makes sense to pair each BERGER installation with a POLO filtration system sized specifically for it.
This complementarity allows us to offer you a complete and coherent production line: machine + filtration + fluid. A single point of contact for the entire process.
